OBITUARY: Teresa Schwalie
Teresa "Terri" Schwalie, 52, passed away Sunday, April 21, 2013, at Stormont-Vail. She was born October 11, 1960, in Topeka, the daughter of Raymond G. and Gladys "Geraldine" (Vale) Schwalie. Teresa was employed at Washburn University as a security guard in her younger years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Rhonda Shaw; and a brother, Greggery Schwalie.
Survivors include a daughter: Lakisha K. Schwalie; two nieces: Samantha and Mandy; two great-nieces: Justice and Trinity; and several cousins.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Avenue. Interment in Mount Hope Cemetery, 4700 SW Seventeenth Street. Teresa will lie in state after 3:00 PM, Monday, at the funeral chapel where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
