OBITUARY: Ted T. Hothan
Ted T. Hothan, 82, of Lake Ridge Estates, Lake Perry, peacefully passed away at his home surrounded by his family
on June 2, 2009.
He was born October 4, 1926 in Scranton, KS to Fred and Ruby Hothan. He graduated from Carbondale High School,
enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, and spent time in Okinawa and Presque Isle, Maine.
He married Patricia Ann Jones on May 19, 1949 and together they had five sons and two daughters. He is survived by his wife,
Patricia, his seven children, 18 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren; his sister, Sally Powell, married to George of Topeka,
KS also survives along with their five children, 20 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Ted dedicated most of his career to the U.S. Postal Service and retired in 1981. Throughout his years, he donated many hours
to the Lake Perry Optimist Club. He was an avid outdoorsman and spent many of his retirement years on the golf course.
Words cannot express how much he will be missed.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM, Sat., June 6, 2009 at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence,
Topeka. Cremation will follow the services. Mr. Hothan will lie in state after 3 p.m., Friday at the funeral home where the
family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, Hope Lodge,
