Susan Ann Worcester Menefee
Susan Ann Worcester Menefee, 70, of Topeka, KS, formerly of Murfreesboro, TN, died Sunday, January 7, 2018, at Stormont-Vail Hospital, Topeka. She was born April 19, 1947, at Americus, KS, the youngest of three daughters born to Henry Horace "Hank" and Ethel M. (Duncan) Worcester.
Susan attended Americus Schools; received a BS from Kansas State Teachers College of Emporia; and Master's Degree from Middle Tennessee State. She was an elementary music teacher in Murfreesboro, TN, for 40 years.
She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Murfreesboro and attended Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church in Topeka. She was in the Northland Christian Church Handbell Choir. She was a member of Tennessee Educators Association and the National Educators Association.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law: Henry Page "Hank" Menefee and Pi Stratton of Sydney, Australia; a sister: Kay Jones-Ray of Topeka; a niece: Channan Bench; and a nephew: Marty Kirby. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Eunice Worcester Adrian.
Memorial services will be at 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 13, 2018, at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Murfreesboro, TN. Interment of cremains will be in Americus Cemetery, Americus, Kansas.
Memorial donations may be made to the Susan Worcester Menefee Music Scholarship at the Emporia State University, Emporia, KS.
