OBITUARY: Summer Lea Lathrom

Summer Lea Lathrom, 19, Topeka, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2008, at a local hospital.

Summer was born Feb. 10, 1989 in Topeka, the daughter of Michael and Karla (Schultz) Lathrom. She attended Topeka High School.

Survivors include her parents, husband, Waylon Kirby, Topeka; their children, Waylon Kirby Jr., Jerome Kirby, Topeka; brothers, Kurt and Jamie Stockman, Thomas Lathrom, Dugan Lathrom; sister, Chanses Lathrom; grandparents, Anna L. Schultz, Linda Thomas, Noble Lathrom; brothers-in-law, Ronnie Blackwell, Dylan Thomas; sisters-in-law, Kayla Thomas, Kassidy Kirby, Sara Blackwell; in-laws, Sharon and Bryan Smart; and two nephews, Jeremiah Stockman and Joshua Stockman.

She was a devoted mother to her children.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM, on Mon., Feb. 18, 2008, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery. Summer will lie in state at the funeral chapel after 2:00 PM, on Sunday and visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the Summer Lathrom's Children Education Fund c/o Kansas Super Chief Credit Union, 501 NE Lake Street, Topeka, KS 66616.
