Steven Shepard

Steven L. Shepard, 53, of Topeka, passed away March 5, 2010 at home with his family at his side. Steve was born January 10, 1957 in Whittier, CA, the son of the late Lloyd H. Shepard and Judy Shepard-McClellan. Steve was an accomplished construction superintendent, completing his last project with Walsh Construction in Norfolk, VA. In his spare time, he enjoyed golfing with his family. In 1975 Steve married Janet Lyden. She survives. Other survivors include; his sons, Adam L. Shepard, FL, Dustin D. Shepard, Topeka and his daughter Kelsie N. Shepard, Topeka. Also surviving is his mother, Judy McClellan; brothers Rodger Shepard and Jack McClellan, and sisters Ruth Ann Dreyer, and Rita Craig of OK. Cremation is planned, with no family visitation prior to service. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence, Topeka. The family suggests memorials to the Terry C. Johnson Center for Basic Cancer Research, Kansas State University, 1 Chalmers Hall, Manhattan, KS, 66506-3901.
