OBITUARY: Steven Russell Powell
Steven Russell Powell, 20, Topeka, died Sat., Feb. 18, 2012, at his home. He was born May 21, 1991, in Topeka, the son of Scott and Jean M. (Tidwell) Powell. He graduated from Seaman High School in 2009, where he participated in Cross Country. He had been a member of Danger Fire Boxing Team. Steven graduated from Washburn Tech in 2010 and was employed by Midas Service Center. Surviving are his parents: Scott and Jean Powell; siblings: Samantha Powell, Crystal Sturgeon, Alisha Kowalski, and Christopher M. Powell; grandparents: Robert and Glenda Tidwell, Kathy Jones, and Elaine Harkins; 6 beautiful nieces and nephews; and many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM, Fri., Feb. 24, 2012, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave. Interment in Rochester Cemetery. Steven will lie in state after 3:00 PM, Thurs., at the funeral chapel where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to Life Patterns, 3625 SW 29th, Topeka, KS 66614, where he dedicated time to helping special needs adults.
