Steven K. Allen, 53, of Topeka, passed away on Tuesday, August 15, 2006 at his home. He was born on November 16, 1952 in Manhattan, the son of Donald D. and Dixie Fisher Allen. He graduated from Seaman High School in 1970. He obtained an Associate Degree in Communications from Ft. Scott Community College. While attending Ft. Scott, he was a member of the football teams which won the Juco National Title both years in which he played. Those teams were inducted into the Ft. Scott Sports Hall of Fame. He then received a BS Degree in Communication Arts from Washburn University. He was a Marketing Executive for Personalized Brokerage Services. Steven married Kathy Gaffney on November 17, 1984 in Topeka. She survives. Other survivors include two daughters, Nicole Nantz, Kelsey Allen, one son, Shane Allen, one granddaughter, Madison Shirley, his mother, Dixie Allen, three brothers, Jay Allen, Paul Allen and Vance Allen. Steven was preceded in death by his father, and one sister, Dixie Diane Allen. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 N.W. Independence Ave. Burial will follow in Rochester Cemetery. Steven will lie in state and the family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Saturday at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel.
