Steven Craig Johnson, age 54, passed away July 11, 2020. Steve was born in Wϋrzburg, Germany February 22, 1966 and came to the U.S. at just 7 years of age. He is survived by his wife Mary of 21 years. He is also survived by a great many brothers and sisters, most who came to call Steve family, first by marriage, and then by choice. In addition, he leaves behind 20 nieces and nephews, and 21 great nieces and great nephews, many of which he doted on. Steve will be greatly missed by all who called him family.
Steve was a truck driver for more than 16 years and drove for R.R. Pallets prior to his death. He had a profound love of the road and was very proud of his profession. When Steve was not driving his semi, he was riding his Harley Davidson, which might have been his greatest love, if not for his wife Mary. He also loved camping and smoking meat for his family and friends. Steve’s presence, his laughter, and his passion for life will be missed by all.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, July 22, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at Most Pure Heart of Mary, 3601 SW 17th, Topeka, Kansas. Interment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery at Newman, east of Perry. He will lie in state from 11:00-9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 21 st at Davidson Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited beginning at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday evening.
