Steven G. Johnson, 70, Topeka, passed away Sunday July 11, 2021 at Midland Hospice House. Steven was born November 10, 1950 in Manhattan Kansas. He was the son of Gaylord and Ruth "Salley" Johnson of Silver Lake, KS. He spent his early years in Randolph and moved to Silver Lake when he was 10. As an adult he lived in multiple residential facilities but spent the last portion of his life as a resident of Sheltered Living in Topeka. As a resident of Sheltered Living, he worked at Easter Seals Workshop for disabled adults and later attended T.A.R.C day services.
Steven enjoyed nothing more than his mom's apple pie and fried chicken. He also always asked for Hershey chocolate bars, Oreo cookies and Cheese Nips whenever a holiday was approaching. He had a deep love for music, especially Christian Hymns that reminded him of Sunday services as a child at Silver Lake United Methodist Church.
Steven is survived by his Twin Sister, Susan (Christopher) Peterson, Sun City AZ. Nephew Erik (Alison) Peterson, Richardson, Tx. Niece Katie (Chris) Formas, Glendale AZ. Great niece and nephews Jayna, Matt Formas and Kaden, Keaton Peterson. He is preceded in death by his parents, Gaylord and Ruth Johnson.
A Memorial celebration of his life will be held Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at 2:00 pm at Silver Lake United Methodist Church.
