OBITUARY: Stephen Thomas Foster
Stephen Thomas Foster, 66, Topeka, went home to be with his Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tues., June 12, 2012. He was born March 9, 1946, in Topeka, the son of H. Thomas and F. Marie (Manning) Foster. Steve graduated from Seaman High School and served his floor covering apprenticeship in Denver. He was a self-employed installer for 43 years. He was a member of Grace Chapel of Carbondale and the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. He was a volunteer for Heart of America Hospice. Steve was an avid hunter and fisherman, and also enjoyed baking and riding motorcycles. His passion was doing work for family and friends. Steve was married to Judith A. Baldon on Nov. 24, 1967, in Denver. Judy preceded him in death on Sept. 22, 2004. He was also preceded in death by his parents, and two siblings: Leanna Charmaine and John Allen. Surviving are three children: Rachel Anderson (Jonathan) of Easton, MO, Kathleen Rumill (Ralph) of Ellsworth, ME, and Chad Foster (Shay) of Eskridge; three brothers: Gregory Foster of Jacksonville, FL, Nels Foster, and Mike Foster, both of Topeka; a sister: Tina Frye of Topeka; his step-mother: Betty Foster of Topeka; a step-brother: Mark Hinkle of Topeka; and six grandchildren: Carl, Annie, Janelle, Hannah, Elsie, and Lillian. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM, Fri., June 22, 2012, at Community Church, 1819 SW 21st. Interment in Half-Day Cemetery. Steve will lie in state after 3:00 PM, Thurs., June 21st, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave., where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
