Stella Christey

Stella M. Christey, 92, of Topeka, passed away Sunday, October 9, 2005 at Midland Hospice House. She was born May 4, 1913 in Haviland, KS, the daughter of Arthur and Edith Cade Davis. She was the last living child of their five children.

She marred Charles N. Christey, February 19, 1957 in Amy, Kansas. He died July 5, 1972.

Stella worked at Seymour Foods and retired at age 62 from Menninger Credit Union. After her retirement she was active with the NIA, tending her flowers, crocheting afghans and visiting with her nieces and nephews that she loved so much. She was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church of Topeka.

A funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 12, 2005 at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel in North Topeka. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time. Interment will be in Penwell-Gabel's Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Christey will lie in state from 3:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 11, 2005 at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel.
