Stanley M. Knox, age 77 of Topeka passed away Monday, October 7, 2019 at the Kelly House in Topeka. Stan was born September 16, 1942 in Cheyenne, Wyoming, the son of Samuel and Trecia Stanley Knox III. Stan was raised by his mother, Trecia and his stepfather, Jack R. Masters. Stan graduated from Washington High School in Kansas City, Kansas in 1961. He attended Emporia State University for a time. He served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam where he received the Bronze Star and the Army Commendation Medal. He worked for the Kansas City, Kansas Police Department as a patrolman. He then worked for UPS for over 30 years. Stan was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ Latter-Day Saints.
Stan was preceded in death by two sisters, Kathleen Alcanter and Sheryl Ann.
He is survived by a daughter, Shelby (Will) Robarge of Lawrence; a son, Sheldon (Leigh) Streeter of Pennsylvania; and six grandchildren, Josie, Mahayla, Sam, Simon, Zoe and Jack.
Funeral services will be Monday, October 14, 2019 at 1:30 p.m. at the Leavenworth National Cemetery in Leavenworth. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Peggy Kelly House in Topeka and sent in care of the Davidson Funeral Home. davidsonfuneral.com.
