Shirley Schmick

Shirley Schmick, 85, of Topeka, passed away on Wednesday, September 13, 2023.  She was born August 26, 1938 in Topeka, KS the daughter of Harry and Helen Wyman.   She graduated from Topeka High School and married George Schmick on August 23, 1958 in Middletown, NY.  They were married for over 55 years until his passing in 2013.  Shirley was employed by Southwestern Bell Telephone and retired in 1991 with nearly 30 years of service.  Upon retirement, she enjoyed taking cruises, travelling the US, collecting and selling antiques, and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by a son, Dale Schmick of Topeka; a daughter Cindy (Michael) Kirmse of Terrell, TX,: four grandchildren, Kyle and Ryan Schmick of Topeka, Kellie Schmick of Lawrence, and Kourtney Schmick of Baldwin, and her beloved cat, Haley.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Harry A. Wyman Jr., Texas.
