Shirley Kay Green
Shirley Kay Green, 72, Topeka, died November 1, 2013. She was born January 31, 1941, in Osage City, the daughter of Clarence and Frances Ellen (Bean) Mitchell. Shirley graduated from Olivet High School in 1958. She was a life-time Kansas resident.
She had opened and operated Shirley's House Cleaning. She was a Friend of Bill W. for 18 years.
Surviving are children: Frank M. Monthey (Gemma) of Gillette, WY , Alan D. Monthey (Melody) of Topeka, and Penny C. Monthey of Topeka; siblings: James Mitchell (Darlene) of Topeka and Sharon Tipton of Topeka; five grandchildren: Sherry Bockelman (Brian) of Boise, ID, Christopher Monthey (Miranda) of Hendricks, MN, Casey Monthey (Andrea) of Lyndon, Cody Monthey of Lawrence, and Tanya Monthey of Portland, OR; and four great-grandchildren: Kameha Mae Monthey, Calliope Smittick, Emerson Amelia Monthey, and Ethan Bockelman.
Shirley was preceded in death by her father: Clarence Mitchell; her mother: Frances E. Mapes; and a brother: Clarence "Bud" Mitchell, Jr.
Memorial services will be at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, November 5, 2013, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Avenue. The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:30 PM, Monday, at the funeral chapel.
Private entombment of cremains in Rochester Cemetery Columbarium, 1200 NW Menninger Road, Topeka.
