Shelley A. Myers

Shelley A. Myers, 42, Topeka, died Saturday, Dec. 13, 2003, in Topeka. She was born Jan. 27, 1961, in Topeka, the daughter of Charles R. and Jean Caroline McGuire Myers. Shelley was a licensed mental health technician and worked for the state of Kansas for a number of years. Her desire to help others carried over to her compassion and caring for animals and the environment. She is loved and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Jean C. Myers, and her sister, Charla Harmonson. Survivors include her father, Charles R. Myers, Topeka; a sister, Diana Van Stone, Overland Park; nieces, Natalie Bowman, Lorien Van Stone and Rachel Nuesfeld; and longtime companion, Veda Bratton. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel. Burial will be in Penwell Gabel's Memorial Park Cemetery. Shelley A. Myers will lie in state after 3 p.m. Tuesday at Parker-Price Mortuary, where family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Helping Hands Humane Society, 2625 N.W.
