Shawn Michael Filby

Shawn Michael Filby, 35, of Topeka, died Monday, June 11, 2007. Shawn was born to Henry A. Filby and Sharon S. Riggs on April 29, 1972 in Topeka, KS. He attended schools in Coffeyville, KS, Kansas City, MO, and Reno, NV. Shawn worked as a Lead in Shipping and Receiving at Payless Shoe Source for 11 years. He was united in marriage to Michelle Acuna on May 25, 2004. Shawn leaves behind, his wife and three children, Ragan Hope Filby, Ian Michael Filby, and Maxwell Sidney Filby and step-sons, Lance Thomas Olsson and Tyler Jacob Corber, all of Topeka; parents, Henry Hank Filby and wife, Janet of Reno, NV and Sharon Beck and husband, Thomas of Broken Arrow, OK; brothers, Shayne H. Filby of Topeka, KS, Joseph Bansuelo of Oakland, CA, J. Adam Bansuelo of Reno, NV and Danny Beck of Chicago, IL; sister, Jennifer Bansuelo of Reno, NV, and many loving and caring aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends that all shared his love of fishing and camping. Shawn was preceded in death by grandparents, Earl O. and Betty Filby, Topeka, KS and Donald and Arlene Riggs, Coffeyville, KS. He will lie in state after 9 a.m. on Saturday, June 16, 2007 at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. that evening.
