Sharon Kay Yockers, 74, of Topeka, passed away on December 7, 2022 at the University of Kansas Health System - St. Francis Campus.
Sharon was born on April 28, 1948, daughter of Clyde and Marjorie (Collins) Rowley in Topeka, Kansas.
She graduated from Highland Park High School in 1966.
Sharon started her career in insurance after graduation. She was very active in the insurance field in Topeka and retired in the Risk Management Department for the City of Topeka after 23 years of service.
On January 23, 1971 she married Howard Yockers. Sharon and Howard lived in Topeka, Kansas where they started their family together.
Sharon was a very active grandmother, spending time with her only grandson, Brayden. She also enjoyed sewing, reading romance novels, making ceramic pieces, and collecting snowmen figures. Sharon also liked to cheer on her Kansas Jayhawks.
Sharon is survived by her loving husband, Howard; daughter, Jennifer (Levi) Bixel; siblings, Steven (Sue) Hastings and Martha Kistler; and grandson, Brayden Bixel.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be held at Parker-Price Funeral Home on Saturday, December 10 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. Memorial service will follow at 2:00 pm. Private family inurnment will take place at a later date.
