Seymour Gordon Norland, Jr., 77, Topeka, died Tues., June 6, 2006 at St. Francis Hosp. He was born Jan. 30, 1929, at Lajunta, CO the son of Charlotte P. (Peterson) and Seymour G. Norland, Sr.
Seymour was a forklift operator for Owens-Corning for 28 years, retiring in 1994.
He was married to Virginia L. (Reich) Massey on Dec. 10, 1973 at Topeka. She survives. He was preceded in death by 2 step-sons: Fred Massey and Mike Massey.
Surviving are his wife, Virginia, of the home; 2 daughters: Carol Hicks and Judy Young, both of Topeka; 3 sons: Paul Massey of Topeka, Bill Massey of Paola, and Tom Massey of St. Marys; a daughter-in-law: Debi Massey of Pleasant Hill, MO; a sister: Audrey Brower of El Rancho, NM; 2 brothers: Keith Norland of Eureka, CA and Cecil Norland of Abbeyville; 13 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.
Mr. Norland was cremated with services private. Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel was in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Midland Hospice, 200 S.W. Frazier Circle, Topeka, KS 66606-2800.
