Sarah Fuqua

Sarah Faye Fuqua,86, of Topeka, passed away Friday, May 16, 2008 at Topeka Presbyterian Manor.

She was born October 5, 1921in Globe, Kansas, one of twelve children from Alva and Grace Badsky Bond.

Mrs. Fuqua was employed by the Forbes Supply Depot, Kresge Dime Store in Topeka and was a private child care provider for many children in Topeka. Her and her husband were active in Flea Markets throughout Kansas and Texas.

Sarah married Kenneth Theodore "Ted" Fuqua on February 23, 1941 in Michigan Valley, Kansas. He preceded her in death on January 18, 2008.

Survivors include a daughter, Patricia L. Hildebrandt of Topeka; a son , Melvin D. Fuqua of Glendale, WI; a brother, Fred Bond of Overbrook, KS; 5 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Saturday, May 24, 2008 at the Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence. Private family interment in Mt Hope Cemetery, Topeka. Sarah will lie in state after 3 p.m., Friday at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. Memorial contribtributions may be made to the Central Park Christian Church, 1535 SW Clay, Topeka, KS 66604 or to Alzheimer Association, P.O.
