Sandra (Alley) Thonen, 74, Topeka, passed away Friday, November 23, 2018.
She was born October 25, 1944, in Topeka, Kansas, the daughter of Hershel and Ada (Abele) Alley. She graduated from Whiting High School and on August 10, 1963 she married Kenneth Thonen in Whiting, Kansas. Sandra raised four children and later was a rural mail carrier, retiring after 24 years.
Sandra was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved spending time with her family, cooking and taking trips to the mountains. She was a member of Northside Church of Christ. She loved the Lord Jesus spending time in the Word.
Survivors include her husband, Kenneth; children, Kerry Thonen (Ann), Scott Thonen (Sheila), Sheri Schumaker (Kent) and Matthew Thonen and five grandchildren, Jordan Hayes, Jacob Thonen, Kaleb Schumaker, Trevor Schumaker and Luke Thonen.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. followed by a memorial service at 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 30, 2018 at Northside Church of Christ, 555 NW 46th St, Topeka.
