Sandra Sue Raines, 70, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2019.
She was born October 11, 1948, in Topeka, Kansas, the daughter of James and Velma (Hudson) Raines.
Sandra graduated from Friends University in 2003 with a 4.0 GPA and on the Presidential Honor Roll Recognition, all while working full time.
In 1987, she began working for the State of Kansas, retiring in 2009 after over 20 years of service.
On May 5, 1967, she married Ron McDaniel, they later divorced. On May 3, 1995, she married Allen Large, they too later divorced.
Survivors include her four sons, James McDaniel, David McDaniel, Chris McDaniel and Robert Foster; her daughter, Lesley two brothers, Ron Raines and Rick Raines, two sisters, Linda Vigneron and Cindy Raines; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded by her former husband Ron McDaniel and infant twin sons, Robert & Stephen McDaniel.
Sandra was an avid KU fan and enjoyed watching Kansas basketball. She enjoyed her flowers, mainly peonies, iris' and daisies. She also enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and other crafts. She loved all her furry babies and was an excellent cook of delicious home style meals.
A celebration reception of Sandra's life will be from 12 noon until 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at Parker-Price Reception Center, 1940 NW Central Ave, Topeka, KS.
