Sam was a self-taught handy-man who loved to tinker with items and making them functional. He also dabbled in making wooden toys. Sam was an avid bowler who achieved the pinnacle of rolling three perfect 300-games. He often spoke fondly about all of his bowling buddies while sharing many stories about how he used to "stir-the-pot" by giving everyone a hard, but good-natured ribbing. Sam enjoyed lending a helping hand to anyone in need and was especially focused on supporting his children and grandchildren. Before retiring from Seaman USD 345 as a Custodian, Sam was a driver for Whelan's Lumber.
