OBITUARY: Ryan Travis Schlehuber

Ryan Travis Schlehuber, 42, died in a truck accident in Rawlins, WY, Wed., June 4, 2008. The son of Sandy Hinkson and Larry Schlehuber, he was born March 8, 1966, in Newton. Ryan is survived by his finacee: Mga Huynh Thi Tuyet of Viet Nam; his mother: Sandy Hinkson (his stepfather, John Hinkson, passed away April 10, 2008); his father and stepmother: Larry and Joyce Schlehuber of Clinton, MO; his sister, brother-in-law, and niece: Rhonica, Jack, and Michelle Sheng of Denver, CO; his brother: Rob Schlehuber and his financee, Deb Marsh, and Rob's son, Zach, of Topeka. He is also survived by 2 stepsisters; 2 stepbrothers; 5 aunts; 4 uncles; 17 cousins and their families. Ryan graduated from Seaman High School; served in the Marine Corps as a Nuclear, Biological, and Chemical Specialist; attended Pittsburg State University for 5 years, completing undergraduate courses with a Biology Major which he later changed to Printing Management. He graduated from Pittsburg State's Technical School with a 2 year Electrician's Degree and the honor of being on the Dean's Honor Roll all 4 semesters. Ryan intimately knew and fished every strip pit in the Pittsburg area with his dog, "Yahei," an Akita, in his 1958 Willey's Jeep. He did substitute teaching in the Pittsburg area, had several years of being self-employed with his Remodeling Business, and worked as an Apprentice Electrician, and as a Maintenance Electrician, enjoying his work with the Robotics. He also was enjoying his new sales position in Denver, CO, with Tri-Star. He was on his way to check out a good fishing spot in Wyoming when the accident occured. Family memorial services will be at 10:00 AM, Sat., June 28, 2008, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ryan Schlehuber Memorial Fund c/o Wild Trust of KS, KDWP, 300 SW Wanamaker, Topeka, KS 66606.
