Ruth Barbarow

Ruth Alberta Meakins Barbarow, 85, Topeka, died, Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2004 at a Topeka nursing home. Mrs. Barbarow was born June 12, 1919 in Topeka, KS the daughter of Joseph and Caroline Franks Meakins. She was the last survivor of six children. She married Lloyd A. (Nick) Barbarow on March 26, 1940 in Topeka, KS, he survives. She was a Topeka resident all of her life. She graduated from Topeka High School in 1938. Ruth was a member of Highland Heights Christian Church. Ruth was preceded in death by two grandsons. Survivors include a daughter, Linda and husband Jerry Weigel, Tecumseh, KS; a son, Thomas Barbarow of Rosenberg, TX; six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 11, 2004 at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel. Burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
Mrs. Barbarow will lie in state after 3:00 pm, Friday, Sept. 10, 2004 at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel in North Topeka where the family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society 1315 SW Arrowhead Rd.
