Ruth Anne Ensley, 68, of Hoyt, passed away Wednesday, January 22, 2014.
She was born February 5, 1945, in Auburn, Kansas, the daughter of Rozelle and Maxine (Alexander) Atherton. She was a graduate of Auburn High School.
Mrs. Ensley was a member of the Holton Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Ruth married John M. Ensley, Sr. on January 20, 1964 in Miami, OK . He survives of the home. Other survivors include two sons, John M. (Marcie) Ensley Jr., and Kent T. (Michelle) Ensley, all of Hoyt; five grandchildren, Mandy (Kevin) Holbrook, Cassie (Rene) Serna, Matthew Ensley, Jacob Ensley, Noah Ensley; two brothers, Gale (Sue) Atherton, Topeka, KS and David (Carolyn) Atherton, Gainesville, FL; and a sister, Carol (Gerald) Garrett, Carbondale, KS.
Ruth was a loving, dedicated wife and mother. She was loved by anyone who knew her.
Mrs. Ensley was cremated. A memorial ceremony will be 2:30 p.m., Sunday, January 26, 2014 at the Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave, Topeka. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Heart of Jackson County Humane Society, 414 E. 8th St., PO BOX 126, Holton, KS 66436.
