Russell O. Morstorf, 87, of Topeka, passed away on Friday, July 18, 2008 at home. He was born on January 14, 1921 near Delia, the son of Frank and Lillian Hopper Morstorf. He lived in the Topeka area his entire life. Russell was employed by Goodyear for 5 years. He then was employed by Sears for 30 years before retiring as an Assistant Manager for the service department in 1983. He was a Scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop No. 39. He and his wife enjoyed traveling after his retirement. Russell married Dilla Schultz on June 17, 1945 in Berryton. They were married for 63 years. She survives. Other survivors include three sons, Russell D. (Carol) Morstorf, Dale E. (Linda) Morstorf, Frank C. (Joyce) Morstorf, one daughter, Loretta K. (Byron) Brown all of Topeka, 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Russell was preceded in death by one daughter, Linda D. Morstorf and one brother, George Morstorf. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday at Mount Hope Cemetery. Burial will follow. Russell will lie in state after 1:00 p.m. Sunday at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 N.W.
