Beloved Father, Grandfather, Brother, Husband and Son, Rudolph Nicklos Benton was born on May 7th 1931 in McAlester Oklahoma and born into eternity February 5th 2022 in Lancaster, California at the age of 90.
Rudolph or "Rudy" as most knew him was raised in Haileyville, Oklahoma to Russell H Benton and Carrie Giacomo Benton. He grew up in a large family with 3 brothers and 2 sisters: John Rock, Genevieve Palmarchuk, Russell Benton, Margaret Benton and Michael Benton. Upon graduation from high school he went to work for the Railroad, a career that spanned 47 years and took him from Oklahoma to Texas, Detroit, Los Angeles, and Topeka, Kansas. It was the one career he knew and loved only interrupted to serve in the US Army during the time of the Korean War.
In 1983 Rudy met his wife Janet Noble Benton and had two children Jason Benton and Carrie Benton. After retiring he moved his family back to California where he had previously worked for the Santa Fe railroad and where he always wanted to live. After his wife, Janet, passed away he raised his children putting them both through Catholic school attending mass with them and being the most amazing father anyone could have ever asked for.
Rudy was often known as an extremely kind and charismatic man who most people couldn't help being drawn to. From an early age he learned to cook from his grandmother, an Italian immigrant, and his mother. Cooking became a life-long love of his and something that he genuinely loved doing for others. Often times volunteering to work in the kitchen at both the grade school and high school that his children attended. Never being big on formalities he was always easy-going and quick to get along with as shown by anyone that knew him could easily call him a friend. He also spent time volunteering at his local Knights of Columbus council in Quartz Hill, CA where he became a 4th degree Sir Knight and held multiple officer positions.
He is predeceased by his parents: Russell H Benton and Carrie Giacomo Benton. His Wife: Janet Noble Benton. His siblings: John Rock, Genevieve Palmarchuk and Margaret Benton.
