Rozetta Ann Russell
Rozetta Ann Russell, 78, Topeka, passed away Monday, June 3, 2013, at Stormont-Vail Hospital's Emergency Room. She was born January 26, 1935, at Emporia, the daughter of Melvin and Naomi (Stutesman) Wait.
She grew up in Council Grove and moved to Topeka where she raised a family of four in a farmhouse on Happy Hollow Road. In 1957, she and her husband, Bob, started
Russell Brothers Texaco which later developed into Midway Auto Supply, Inc.
Rozetta was married to Robert L. Russell on July 19, 1952, in Council Grove. He preceded her in death on May 5, 2002.
Surviving are four children: Randy Russell of Lawrence, Rob Russell of Topeka, Lori Hewitt of Topeka, and Sherri Reamer of Silver Lake; two brothers: Jim Stutesman of Oregon and Pat Stutesman of California; eleven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM, Thursday, June 6, 2013, at Bethel Chapel, 6944 NW Landon Road, Topeka. Interment in Prairie Home Cemetery. Rozetta will lie in state after 3:00 PM, Wednesday, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Avenue, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 PM.
