Roy L. Jordan, 63, of Silver Lake, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2007, unexpectedly at work.
He was born Dec. 6, 1943 in Baltimore, MD, the son of John L. and Ruth (Ruby) Jordan.
He was a 1961 graduate of Silver Lake High School. He worked briefly for Henry Manufacturing before going to work for DuPont, now Innovia Films, in Tecumseh for the past 40 years. He volunteered as a fireman in Silver Lake for many years. He was an avid trap shooter and enjoyed the outdoors. He was also a member of the Lake Lodge # 50 A.F.& A.M. of Silver Lake where he received his 30 year pin.
He married Judy Hanna. From this union a daughter, Michelle, was born. They later divorced. He married Diane Mohler on May 14, 1983, in Silver Lake. She survives.
Other survivors include three daughters, Michelle Walston of Costa Mesa,CA, Rhiannon and Leslie Jordan of Silver Lake; a sister, Doris Ann ( Tom) Kruger of Oklahoma; four brothers, Raymond (Patty) Jordan and Donald (Joannie) Jordan, all of Silver Lake, Arthur Jordan, Allen Jordan, both of Topeka; three grandchildren, Jamie, Danielle and Alijah.
Roy will lie in state after 1:00 pm, Sunday, Feb. 4, 2007, at Penwell-Gabel Parker Price Chapel, 245 NW. Independence, Topeka where the family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 pm that evening. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, Feb 5, 2007, at the funeral home with burial to follow in the Prairie Home Cemetery. Masonic services will be conducted by Lake Lodge # 50, A.F. & A.M.
