Rosie M. Acuff

Rosie M. Acuff, 89, of Topeka passed away on Sunday, October 10, 2021.   She was born November 5, 1931 in Waco, Texas the daughter of James Franklin and Verda Mae Laney Herrell.   She lived in Amarillo, Grand Prairie, Irving, Big Spring and Arlington, Texas before moving north to spend the rest of her life in Kansas and Oklahoma.  She lived in Topeka, Kansas City, Collinsville, Oklahoma, and back to Topeka.  She had owned and operated a cleaner with her husband in Big Spring and Irving, Texas.   In Kansas City and Topeka, she was a transcriber for the police departments.

She is survived by her daughters, Toni A. Sharpsteen of Topeka, Myra Junell Darsey and Deborah Jean Darsey, both of Lewisville, Texas.   She is survived by seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.   She had nine siblings; Rosie was the last of her brothers and sisters.

Cremation is planned.  She will be buried next to her husband at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Irving, Texas.   davidsonfuneral.com
