OBITUARY: Rose Marie Frankenfeld
Rose Marie Frankenfeld, 56, Berryton, died Thurs., Feb. 17, 2011, at Midland Hospice House. She was born Nov. 3, 1954, at Atchison, the daughter of James C. "Jim" and I. Lorraine (Evarts) Smiley. Rose retired from Hallmark Cards after 32 years of service. She was the founder of the Purple Rose Society. Rose enjoyed: being around friends and family; music and dancing; fishing and camping; quilting; and most of all, her grandchildren. Rose was married to Robert M. Frankenfeld on Oct. 17, 1981, at Scranton. Surviving in addition to her husband are two daughters: Brenda Frankenfeld and Robin Kofford both of Lawrence; her mother: Lorraine Smiley of Osage City; a sister: Connie Bruno of Topeka; a brother: Dannie Smiley of Burlingame; and 4 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father and a brother, Paul Mitchael Smiley. Services will be at 1:00 PM, Tues., Feb. 22, 2011, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave., Topeka. Interment in Scranton Cemetery. Rose will lie in state after 3:00 PM, Mon., at the funeral chapel where the family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:00 PM.
