OBITUARY: Rose Lucille Welcher
Rose Lucille Welcher, 76, Topeka, died Tues., Jan. 8, 2013, at Select Speciality Hospital. She was born March 17, 1936, in Topeka, the daughter of Garfield A. and Viola C. (Gibbs) Mair.
She was reared in Lawrence and had lived in Netawaka and Hoyt before returning to Topeka. She was employed by Oldham's Farm Sausage in Holton and Petro Deli.
Rose was married to Raymond L. Welcher, Sr., on June 13, 1954, at Topeka. He preceded her in death on Jan. 19, 2000. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Debra Mosher, on Feb. 8, 2007.
Surviving are her children: Cathy McCracken, Robin Welcher, Ray L. Welcher, Jr., and Bryan Welcher (Devon) all of Topeka; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM, Sat., Jan. 12, 2013, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave., Topeka. Private interment in Hoyt Cemetery at a later date.
Rose will lie in state after 3:00 PM, Fri., at the funeral chapel where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to Midland Hospice, 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka, KS 66606-2800.
