Rose Darlene Emery (Gritten) entered into the heavenly gates on August, 29, 2024 at Aldersgate Village in Topeka, KS where she was surrounded by her loved ones. Rose was known for her caring loving heart, and her straightforward attitude all at the same time. She loved making the people around her laugh, and smile. She would give you the shirt off her back without batting an eye. She loved memories such as eating grapes with her great great nieces, to eating ice cream cones while holding her great great nephew as a baby. Rose enjoyed talking about her childhood, the many animals they had on the farm, and the road trips she took with her mom after her father passed away.
Rose retired from the United States Postal Service after over 30 years and having the distinct honor of being the first female USPS employee in Shawnee County. She worked at the downtown post office at 5th and Kansas behind the counter greeting her customers every day with a smile. Due to her employment, she loved collecting stamps and coins from all over the world and passed the stories behind them onto her Great Nieces and Nephews.
To help celebrate her life, there will be a small celebration and service at Northland Christian Church 3102 NW Topeka Blvd, Topeka, KS 66617 at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, September 23, 2024.
