Rosalie Bunting
Rosalie Bunting, 95, Topeka, died Wednesday, December 16, 2015, at Brookside Manor, Overbrook. She was born December 11, 1920, at Dunlap, the daughter of Ethel (Huffman) and Leo Wesley Edington, Sr.
She graduated from Strawn High School in 1938. During World War II she worked on the production line at Consolidated Vultee Aircraft riveting skins on the wings of B-24's. It was there she met her future husband. She was a graduate of the K.U. Med Center L.P. Nurse program. She worked at the Santa Fe-Memorial Hospital from 1966 to 1987.
Rosalie was married to Onis Edgar Bunting on May 14, 1944, in San Diego, CA. He preceded her in death on August 25, 1981.
Surviving are four sons: Moyer W. Bunting (Susan) of Lenexa, Myron "Ray" Bunting (Linda) of Topeka, Marvin L. Bunting of Topeka, and Melvin Dean Bunting (Trisha) of Shawnee; a brother: John W. Edington (Dixie) of Tecumseh; a step-sister: Imogene Langdon of San Diego, CA; ten grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM, Monday, December 21, 2015, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Avenue, Topeka, with her nephew, Jim Edington, officiating. Interment in West Lawn Memorial Gardens, 820 SW Auburn Road, Topeka.
Rosalie will lie in state from 3:00 to 8:30 PM, Sunday, at the funeral chapel where the family will receive friends from 3:00 to 5:00 PM.
