Ronda Leigh Willey
Ronda Leigh Willey, 63, Topeka, died Sunday, Oct. 3, 2004, at her home. She was born Jan. 15, 1941, in Manhattan, the daughter of John Eathen and Lorena May Davis Edwards. She graduated from Manhattan High School in 1959, and from Kansas State University in 1963 with a degree in elementary education. She was a secretary for the federal Internal Revenue Service for over 32 years. She was active in Northern Hills Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school and served on various committees. She was a devoted wife and mother, and touched the lives of many people. She married William G. Willey on Jan. 4, 1964, in Manhattan. He survives. Mrs. Willey was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Dixie Litle. Surviving are her husband, William G. Willey, Topeka; a son, William G. Willey Jr., Topeka; a sister, Anna Mae Buser, Crete, Neb.; a brother, John E. Edwards, Wamego; and a sister, Jeanne Buffington, Manhattan. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at N orthern Hills Baptist Church. Burial will be in Half-Day Cemetery, Elmont. Ronda will lie in state after 3 p.m. on Wednesday at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, Parker-Price Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1315 S.W.
