Ron G. Musick

January 6, 1948 — December 21, 2024

Topeka

Ronald G. Musick, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully at his home in Topeka, Kansas on December 21, 2024, at the age of 76. Born on January 6, 1948, in Topeka, Ron's life was a rich tapestry woven with love, passion, and commitment to family and community.

After graduating from Shawnee Heights High School, Ron embarked on a fulfilling career as an Earth Mover Tire Builder at Goodyear, where he dedicated many years before enjoying a well-deserved retirement. He was a member of the United Steel Worker Union #307. His work was a testament to his tenacity and skill, qualities that he carried not only into his professional life but also into his personal endeavors.

A true adventurer at heart, Ron found immense joy riding his motorcycle, with a special connection to his fellow riders in ABATE, Life Member, of Kansas and the Harley Owners Group, Life Member. These experiences brought him camaraderie and a sense of freedom that invigorated his spirit.

He proudly served in the United States Army. He was stationed at Ft. Jackson, South Carolina, later at Ft. Gordon, Georgia. He was activated with the Kansas Army National Guard to Ft. Carson, Colorado in 1968. There he served as a military policeman with the 5th company – 5th M.P. Company, 5th Divison. He was a part of American Legion Post 400.

Above all, Ron cherished the moments spent with his family, a passion that remained at the core of his being. His loving wife, Sherry Ann (Lyden) Musick, stood by his side for an extraordinary 56 years, nurturing their bond through life’s ups and downs. Together, they raised their two children, Scott and Debra, imparting their love and values to a new generation. Ron took great pride in watching his family grow, and he was especially devoted to his grandchildren, Rylie Musick, Austin (Brandy) Musick, and Myles Musick. His heart swelled with joy as he embraced his great-grandchildren: Davion, Belletriss, Ja'Kayla, Violet, Ja'Ivory, and Persephone, each one a shining light in his life.  . Ron is also survived by his siblings, M.R. “Rex” Musick and Carol Fricke Sisco Engler.

Also preceding him in death is his brother, Larry Fricke.

Though Ron's journey was marked by love and laughter, it was not without its sorrows. He was preceded in death by his cherished great-grandchild, Marcela, and his devoted parents, Jesse Ray Musick and Violet Musick. Their memories lived on in his heart, shaping the man he became.

In remembering Ron G. Musick, we honor a life dedicated to family, friends, and the joy of living. His legacy will breathe through the stories shared, the laughter remembered, and the love that binds those he leaves behind. As we reflect on his life, we hold tight to the cherished memories created along the way, celebrating a remarkable man who taught us the true meaning of love and devotion.
