Roger Leslie Olden
Roger Leslie Olden, 68, Topeka, died Tuesday, December 24, 2013, at Stormont-Vail Hospital from complications of a heart attack. He was born February 21, 1945, in Topeka, the son of Harold Charles and Mildred (Gilleece) Olden.
Roger graduated from Seaman High School in 1963, and attended Washburn. He served in the U.S. Navy. He worked at Goodyear, was a realtor, and was a self-employed painter-handyman.
He was an avid baseball player, played slow-pitch, and coached several teams. He was a passionate golfer and K.U. basketball fan.
Roger was married to Dianne Vandiver. They were divorced.
Surviving are a son: Travis Olden; his mother: Mildred Olden; two sisters: Carolyn Miller (Larry) and Joan Davis all of Topeka; two nieces: Kristi Miller of Roeland Park, Kansas and Melanie Miller of McMurdo Station, Antarctica. He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Gary.
A celebration of life gathering will be from 1:00 to 3:00 PM, Saturday, January 11, 2014, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Avenue, Topeka.
