OBITUARY: Rodolfo Ortega Santellano
Rodolfo Ortega Santellano, 65, of Topeka died Tues., April 19, 2005 at St. Francis Hospital. He was born March 6, 1940 at El Paso, TX the son of Daniel R. and Bertha E. (Ortega) Santellano. He was reared in Los Angeles, CA and moved to Topeka in 1966.
Rodolfo worked for Allis-Chalmers Manufacturing for 17 years before retiring. He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and the Local Rubber Workers Union. He enjoyed going to the casinos and garage sales to find "treasures" that he shared with his family & friends.
On Nov. 6, 1965 Rodolfo was married to Sharon Kay Otte at Las Vegas, NV. She resides in their home, Topeka.
Surviving in addition to his wife are 3 daughters: Lorraine Wieland and Victoria Thompson both of Topeka and Bertha Fenech of Vine Grove, KY; a son: Dominic Santellano of Topeka; a sister, Venus Melero of Ontario, CA; a brother, Hugo Santillano of Visalia, CA; and 13 grandchildren: Heather and Jessica Wieland, T.J., Macey, Blaine, T.C. and T.L. Thompson, James, Kelsey, and Tyler Stanley, and Gabriel and Marshall Santellano.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m., Sat., April 23, 2005 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Rodolfo will lie in state after 3:00 p.m. Friday at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 N.W. Independence where the family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and a parish rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m.
