OBITUARY: Roberta Maxine Jones
Roberta M. Jones, 79, Topeka, died Thurs., Nov. 5, 2009, at Stormont-Vail Hospital. She was born May 12, 1930, in Topeka, the daughter of Ralph W. and Daisy A. (Tubbs) Oldham. Roberta retired from the Kansas Dept. of Revenue. She was married to Clifford L. Jones on March 12, 1948, in Topeka. He preceded her in death on Nov. 6, 1997. Surviving are a daughter: Carol Hastings (Kent) of Tecumseh; 3 sons: Terry Jones (Brenda) of Berryton, Larry Jones (Robin) of Topeka, and Jerry Jones (Cheryl) of Topeka; 2 sisters: Roena Collins of Topeka and Betty Goodnow (Clyde) of Springfield, MO; a brother: Dale Oldham (Marilyn) of K.C., MO; 14 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM, Mon., Nov. 9, 2009, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave. Interment in Rochester Cemetery. Roberta will lie in state after 1:00 PM, Sun., at the funeral chapel where the family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1315 SW Arrowhead Road, Topeka, KS 66604 OR the American Heart Assoc., P.O. Box 1653, Topeka, KS 66601-1653.
