Robert Milton Vanhyning Jr.

Robert Milton VanHyning Jr., 86, of Topeka, Kansas, passed away on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at the Olathe Hospice House. Robert was born on December 20, 1930, son of Robert VanHyning Sr. and Lela Neiman VanHyning.

Robert spent majority of his life in the United States Army where he earned the title Sargent First Class, and also served in the Navy and the Marines. Robert married Marilyn JoAnn VanHyning where they had four children. They later divorced.

Robert is preceded in death by both of his parents and Marilyn.

His is survived by his four children, Greg VanHyning of Texas, Valarie Mayes of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Kurt VanHyning of Kansas City, and Brenda VanHyning of Kansas City, and six grandchildren.

Visitation will be Thursday, October 5, 2017 at Davidson Funeral Home in Topeka, Kansas, from 6:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m. Graveside service will be Friday, October 6, 2017 at Leavenworth National Cemetery at 10:00 a.m.
