OBITUARY: Robert Paul Johnston, Jr.
Robert Paul Johnston, Jr., 89, of Topeka, died Sun., May 9, 2010, at Peterson Health Care, Osage City. He was born April 26, 1921, in Oklahoma, the son of Dette and Robert P. Johnston, Sr. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He worked at Winter General V.A. Hospital until he retired. Bob was a former member of Philip Billard Post # 1650, VFW. He was preceded in death by his wife, Chris, and son, Robbie. Surviving are a daughter: Cheri Hall, and a son: Greg Johnston; a special niece/guardian: Linda Flinner; several grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be at 1:00 PM, Fri., May 14, 2010, at Half-Day Cemetery, Elmont. Bob will lie in state after 3:00 PM, Thurs., at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence, where the family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:30 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to Midland Hospice Care, 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka, KS 66606-2800.
