Robert Lee (Bob’O) Milner was born on November 29, 1943, to Max and Lenah Eilene (Spicer) in Munden, Kansas.
Bob’O enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1962. He served as an Engineman during the Vietnam War before being discharged in September ’93.
He married Joann Snyder in Belleville, Kansas on December 5, 1964. In June of ’66, they moved to Topeka, Kansas, where Bob’O went to work as a painter for the Santa Fe railroad. In the early ‘80s, Bob’O and Joann started their own business, King of the Road Motorcoach. He drove all over the U.S. but was most proud of carrying military troops and the KU women’s basketball team.
When not driving, Bob’O loved spending time on the water at Lake Perry, fishing, boating, and water skiing (he even skied behind a houseboat!). He loved to root for the Kansas City Chiefs and KU basketball team.
He was a member of the Arab Shriners Legion of Honor and the American Legion Post #400.
Bob’O is survived by his daughter, Theresa (Mike) Willes, Meriden; stepson, Steven (Carol) Snyder, Missouri; stepdaughter, Debra (Mike) McNamara, Topeka; stepdaughter Belinda Barber, Missouri; grandson Dustin (Kera) Snyder, Basehor; grandson Justin Snyder, North Carolina; Nathan (Brooke) Rawlins, Topeka; Andrew Barber; Calie (Chuck) Craft, Meriden; Kayla McNamara, Topeka; Nikki Willes, Topeka; Brittany Willes, Meriden; Tyler Snyder, Missouri; and Chris Snyder, Missouri.
He and Joann had fifteen great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joann, parents Max and Lenah Eilene (Ike), stepson Gregg Snyder, sister Marilyn Stumbaugh, twin brother Richard Milner, and sister Marcia Milner.
A private family graveside service is planned at Prairie Home Cemetery.
A celebration of Bob’O’s life will be held on Saturday, August 17, from 3-5 p.m. at Sunnyside Café, Perry Lake Rock Creek Marina.
