Robert W. Massey

Robert “Robbie” W. Massey, Jr., age 65, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at Stormont Vail Hospital.  Robert was born February 22, 1955 in Topeka the son of Robert, Sr. and Patty (Arganbright) Massey.  He graduated from Seaman High School and attended Baker University.  He married the love of his life, Loretta Holmes, April 13, 1990 in Topeka.  He worked at Whelan’s Lumber Yard and retired from Adams Business Forms.  Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Loretta, January 1, 2020; three grandchildren, Brent Jaynes, Bobby Joe Harness and Tanner Burkey.  He is survived by a son, Joseph Degan, Jr.  of Topeka; three daughters, Kayla (Frank) Jaynes of Burlingame, KS, Angie (Jarret) Burkey of Auburn, KS, and Heather (Jonathan) Miller of Topeka;  his sister, Pandra (Jay) Wellman of Meriden, KS; 14 grandchildren, Casey, Alissa, Kylie, Chelsea, Jordan, Jayde, Haley, Jacob, Ethan, Rylie, Braden, Ashlynn, Brennan and Liam, and five great grandchildren, Parker, Brayson, Taisley, Gracyn and Hudson.  Robbie enjoyed drag racing his Chevelle when he was younger, sports, especially football which he played himself in high school. He loved going to his grandchildren’s sports events and cheering them on.  He also enjoyed fishing, dancing and spending lots of quality fun time with his family and friends.

Funeral services will be Friday, November 6, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at the Davidson Funeral Home.  He will lie in state Thursday from Noon – 8:00 p.m. at the Davidson Funeral Home.  Interment will be at the Rochester Cemetery.  Services will be live-streamed at the Davidson Funeral Home & Cremation Services Facebook page.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Topeka Rescue Mission or the Helping Hands Humane Society and left in care of the Davidson Funeral Home.  davidsonfuneral.com
