Robert Lee "Bob" Smith, 76, of Topeka, passed away Sunday, December 26, 2010.
He was born March 13, 1934 in Topeka, the son of Harvey A. and Alice M. (Root) Smith. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He was employed by the City of Topeka Water Department, later for Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company, retiring in 1988 and later was employed and retired from the Topeka V.A. Hospital in 1998.
Bob married his childhood sweetheart, Rosalie P. Coffman. She survives. Other survivors include two sons, David Smith, Topeka, Donald Smith, Mayetta; two daughters, Danna Manson, Mayetta and Della Crable, Topeka; 21 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; a sister, Joyce Freeman, Topeka; and a brother, Edward Smith, Dickerson, KS. He was preceded in death by his parents; two children, Darla Smith and Debbie Dennis; two sisters, Bessie Nelson and Mary Bailey; and two brothers, Harvey Smith, Jr. and Larry Smith.
He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Mr. Smith was cremated. Memorial services will be 10 a.m., Friday, December 31, 2010 at the Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave, Topeka, KS 66608.
