OBITUARY: Robert Edgar "Bob" "Bobby" Wolfe
Robert Edgar Wolfe, 80, Topeka, died Mon., Sept. 7, 2009, at St. Francis Hospital. He was born May 29, 1929, in Topeka, the son of Harold B. and M. Margaret (Miller) Wolfe. Bob graduated from Topeka High in 1947, and attended Washburn University. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Bob worked for Retail Credit Co. for 20 years; did property managements; and was founder of Wolfe Sails and remained a sail maker until age 79 (23 years). Bobby was a member of the Perry Yacht Club since 1970; and was an avid sailor. He was also a member of the Natl. Assoc. of Radiation Survivors; Natl. Assoc. of Atomic Veterans; and the V.F.W. Bob was married to Doris Moon Stevens on June 3, 1961, in Topeka. She survives. Also surviving are a step-son: Michael D. Wolfe (Leslie) of Kansas City, MO; and 2 step-grandchildren: Curtis and Julia Lee of Lawrence. He was preceded in death by his parents; and 3 brothers: Harold, Jr., Jack, and Dick Wolfe. Cremation has taken place and memorial services will be at 12:00 noon, Sat., Sept. 12, 2009, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Perry Yacht Club (memo line – Junior Sailing Club), 8369 Yacht Club Drive, Meriden, KS 66512 or the charity of the donor's choice.
