Robert Dale Nottingham, 66, of Auburn, passed away Tuesday, January 27, 2009.
He was born March 28, 1942 in Oklahoma, the son of James Robert and Patty Loraine (Land) Nottingham. He was a 1960 graduate Highland Park High School. He served in the United States Army. Robert was employed by Orkin Inc for 26 years.
Survivors include his companion of 22 years, Carol Davis of Auburn, KS; son, James Lee Nottingham of Wichita; his daughter, Paula Sharp and her husband, Bob of Auburn; his son, Mike Davis and his wife, Ronda of Alta Vista; his step-mother, Mary Sue Nottingham of Westmoreland, KS; his brother, Leon Nottingham of Wichita; his foster brother, Scott Nottingham of Topeka; and seven grandchildren, Joshua, Kelsey, and Anna Nottingham, Taylor Lynn Sharp, Starla Trimble and her husband, Steven, Deana and Dylan Massey. He was preceded in death by a son, Ricky Dale Nottingham, on August 16, 1982.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m., Saturday, January 31, 2009 at West Lawn Memorial Gardens, Topeka.. Mr. Nottingham will lie in state after 3 p.m., Friday at the Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence, Topeka, where the family will receive friends from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of Kansas, 2900 SW Oakley, Topeka, KS 66614.
