Robert Allen Cain, 61, of Topeka, passed away Thursday, June 20, 2013 at his home. Robert was born November 8, 1951 at Enid, Oklahoma, the son of Merle and Ruth (Boettcher) Cain and moved at a young age to the communities of Clifton and Hanover, Kansas and then to Shawnee County Kansas in 1955. He attended Capper Foundation in Topeka, Tecumseh North Grade School and graduated from Shawnee Heights High School.
Survivors include step-father, Voyd Griffith, Tecumseh, KS; six brothers, Vance (Terri) Cain, Independence, KS, Calvin (Beth) Griffith, Jacksonville, FL, Terry (Diane) Griffith, Topeka, KS, Jim Griffith, Vassar, KS Charlie (Rebecca) Griffith, Lyndon, KS, John (Teri) Griffith, Topeka; five sisters, Karen (John) Pickett, Burlingame, KS, Sheryl Hogan, Topeka, Yvonne Alexander, Tecumseh, KS, Kathryn (Aaron) McMichael, Emporia, KS, Nancy (Richard) Cooley, Topeka, KS; 24 nieces and nephews and 20 great-nieces and nephews.
Mr. Cain was cremated. A graveside ceremony will be 1 p.m., Monday, July 1, 2013 at the Prairie Home Cemetery, 35th and Menoken Rd, Topeka, KS. Memorial contributions may be made to Topeka Rescue Mission, 600 N. Kansas Ave, Topeka, KS 66608. Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel in Topeka is assisting the family.
