Robert E. Adams

Robert “Bob” E. Adams, age 69, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday evening, November 11, 2020 at the St. Francis Hospital in Topeka.  Bob was born January 1, 1951 in Topeka the son of William and Bonita (Lang) Adams.  He graduated from Topeka High School in 1968.  He married Ruby Huckins May 31, 1970 in Topeka.  Bob served in the National Guard.  Bob worked at Goodyear Tire & Rubber in Topeka for 11 years.  He then worked for the Seaman School District at various schools such as Pleasant Hill Grade School, Elmont Grade School, Seaman High School and Lyman Grade School.  He also worked as a newspaper carrier for the Topeka Capital Journal from 1980 – 2016.  Bob and Ruby were members of the Heartland Worship Center.  They recently attended Jefferson Assembly of God Church.  Bob enjoyed fishing, building things and going on cruises.  Bob was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Adams.  He is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Ruby; two sons, Joseph (Cheryl) Adams and Steve (Amber) Adams, both of Topeka; a daughter, Bobbi (Shane) Fletchall of Topeka; a sister, Nancy (Norbert) Kampsen and seven grandchildren, Emily, Tony, Patrick, Alyssia, Kyle, Shelby and Zack.

Funeral services will be Saturday, November 14, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. at the Davidson Funeral Home.  Bob will lie in state Friday from noon – 5:00 p.m. at the Davidson Funeral Home.  The family will greet friends one hour before services, Saturday from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m., also at the funeral home.  The service will be live-streamed on the Davidson Funeral Home & Cremation Services Facebook page.  Interment will be at the Half Day Cemetery in Elmont.  Memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation or the Heartland Worship Center and left in care of the Davidson Funeral Home.  davidsonfuneral.com
