OBITUARY: Robert Alan "Bob" Keaton
Robert Alan "Bob" Keaton, 65, of Meriden, died Wed., Feb. 6, 2013, at Stormont-Vail Hospital's ER. He was born Sept. 2, 1947, in Kansas City, KS, the son of James "Gov" and Mary L. (Kaufman) Keaton.
Bob graduated from Winchester Rural High School (1965) and attended KSTC of Emporia and Highland Junior College. He worked at Seymour Foods from July 1968 to Sept. 2012.
Bob was married to Maxine A. Tucker on Dec. 21, 1968, in Oskaloosa. Surviving are his wife: Maxine of the home; son and daughter-in-law: Miles and Cortney Keaton of Louisburg; daughter and fiancé: Megan Keaton and Aaron Ebke of Topeka; 3 granddaughters: Skylar, Sydney, and Lindsay Keaton of Louisburg; and siblings: Leonard Newman, Bonnie Schneider, Kristie Scrivner, Kathy Spann, and Amy Schneider. He was preceded in death by his father, James; his mother, Mary Newman; his dad, Leonard Newman; and his brother, Steve Newman.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM, Mon., Feb. 11, 2013, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave., Topeka. Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM, Mon., at Wise Cemetery, Winchester. Bob will lie in state after 3:00 PM, Sun., at the funeral chapel where the family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 PM.
