Richard "Dick" R. Hoffsett, 79, Topeka, passed away on Saturday May 23, 2009 at Midland Hospice House.
Dick was born April 24, 1930 in Wamego, the son of Art and Abbie (Johnson) Hoffsett.
He graduated from Wamego High School in 1949.
He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict.
He was a member of Countryside United Methodist Church, Capital Post #1 of the American Legion, and Swinging Squares Square Dance Club. He was a past member of Shawnee Swingers Square, Shooting Stars Square, LP Round and Pomona Lake Round Dance Clubs. He was also a former member of Moose Lodge #555.
Richard married Beverly J. Russell in June of 1986 in Las Vegas, NV. She survives. Other survivors include daughters, Cindy and Janet Hoffsett, Topeka; sons Wayne Hoffsett, Topeka, Bobby Boyce, Phoenix, AZ; step-son, Robert Leishman, Broken Arrow, OK; nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and three nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Lee W., Robert, Harold; and sister Betty Beard.
Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 30, 2009 at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence. Inurnment will follow at Topeka Cemetery.
